Senior Project Officer, Office of the Deputy Director General

About the role

The Department of Energy and Economic Diversification (DEED) is recruiting a Senior Project Officer for its Office of the Deputy Director General, Strategy, Performance and International Engagement. The group shapes and aligns strategy, policy, planning, evaluation and communication across the department and leads the government's investment, trade and international engagement agenda. The officer reports directly to the Executive Manager and supports the Deputy Director General in day-to-day functions, strategic projects, governance activities and corporate priorities.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate projects and undertake research and analysis
• Prepare and review high-quality briefing materials and ministerial correspondence
• Work closely with senior leaders and stakeholders across government and industry
• Contribute to the delivery of strategic initiatives and support the Western Australian international office network
• Manage competing priorities and build strong relationships across a diverse stakeholder landscape

Required profile

• Highly organised and proactive professional who thrives in a fast-paced executive environment
• Excellent written communication skills and strong stakeholder management capabilities
• Ability to provide trusted support to senior executives
• Experience in a government or executive office environment is highly regarded
