Orchestra Manager

About the role

The West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO) is looking for an Orchestra Manager to lead orchestral operations and artist engagement. Reporting to the Director, Orchestra Management, the role manages orchestral personnel and resource needs across projects, performances and activities, combining leadership, planning, communication and problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Manage orchestral personnel and resource requirements across projects, performances and activities
• Support concert, rehearsal and project planning
• Coordinate resources and schedule the workforce
• Resolve issues and communicate with stakeholders
• Support artist welfare and workplace support
• Handle operational administration and record management
• Work with artistic, production and corporate teams and help improve orchestra management practices

Required profile

• Organised, proactive and relationship-focused, able to balance competing priorities with professionalism and discretion
• Experience working with performing artists, creative personnel or similar stakeholder groups
• Experience in the performing arts, live events or cultural sectors is highly regarded
• Willingness to work weekends and outside standard business hours when required
