Senior Project Manager

About the role

Avocado, an IT consultancy specialising in cyber security, CloudOps and software testing, is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead strategic delivery of projects for NSW Government clients. The role is based in Parramatta with a hybrid work arrangement and is offered on a four‑month contract.

Key responsibilities

• Lead strategic project delivery, developing and managing a portfolio of projects.
• Prepare business cases, project plans and establish governance structures.
• Allocate and manage resources, oversee vendor relationships and ensure reporting compliance.
• Monitor project performance, manage risks, contingencies and benefits realisation.
• Lead internal and external project teams to achieve milestones and outcomes.

Required profile

• 10+ years of project management experience, preferably in large or complex organisations.
• Strong digital delivery expertise.
• Experience with AI product implementation (desirable).
• Proven vendor management capabilities.
• Government sector experience is highly advantageous.
