Senior Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex capital works projects that support the growth and liveability of Wodonga. The role will oversee projects from planning and procurement through construction, commissioning and handover, ensuring they meet budget, schedule and quality expectations.

Key responsibilities

• Manage infrastructure projects across roads, drainage, buildings and other council assets through all lifecycle stages.
• Coordinate day‑to‑day delivery, including design reviews, procurement, contractor management and site inspections.
• Develop specifications, scopes of work, tender documentation and project reports to support compliant procurement.
• Monitor budgets, timelines, risks and variations, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal departments, service authorities and community stakeholders.
• Provide project management advice and contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing infrastructure or capital works projects from planning to delivery.
• Strong organisational and governance skills, with ability to balance budgets, timelines and stakeholder expectations.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities with contractors, consultants and community members.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills to address project issues and risks.
