Senior Project Manager - EME Studies

About the role

BHP is looking for a Senior Project Manager to manage priority EME studies across its BMA mobile equipment portfolio. The role takes projects from early definition through option selection, investment approval and execution readiness, and reports to the Lead Mods and Ops.

Key responsibilities

• Manage EME studies from initial business need through study completion and execution readiness.
• Develop study scope, objectives, deliverables, schedule, cost and governance requirements.
• Coordinate inputs across Engineering, EME, Operations, Maintenance, Technology, Finance, Procurement, OEMs and external service providers.
• Facilitate option development and assessment, applying a Minimum Viable Solution approach to challenge unnecessary scope, complexity and capital expenditure.
• Develop project estimates, schedules, risk assessments and execution strategies, and prepare business cases and investment approval documentation.
• Progress studies through governance, assurance and approval processes, and manage interfaces, dependencies and constraints.
• Engage site stakeholders, identify long-lead procurement and OEM requirements early, and ensure proper definition before moving to execution.
• Provide clear project reporting, escalate key decisions, risks and issues, and support handover to project execution.

Required profile

• Extensive project management experience in mining, heavy mobile equipment, engineering or a similar asset-intensive environment.
• Demonstrated experience managing engineering studies and project development.
• Experience preparing business cases and investment approval submissions.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability, and ability to turn complex technical issues into clear business decisions.
