Senior Project Manager - Customer Projects

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is recruiting a Senior Project Manager in Sydney, working onsite at a customer's premises up to four days a week. The role leads customer projects and programs to meet scope, time, budget and quality expectations, and acts as a subject matter expert who advises functional project teams and represents the organisation to external clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage customer projects, including large, complex or multi-region programmes, with detailed design of sponsors' concepts and high-risk delivery
• Manage project financials, meeting or exceeding approved budgets and providing reliable financial forecasts to management
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including steering meetings and monthly business reviews
• Manage internal and external resources, typically a team of more than 20 people across several countries, and mentor team members
• Identify risks and change requests, develop mitigation plans and handle changes under governance processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• PMP/PMI and/or MSP certification preferred
• Typically 8-10 years of experience in program and project management or similar roles
• Experience delivering projects for Telco and service provider customers, and for IT networking projects, is highly desired

Required skills

• Extensive use of project and program planning tools and software
• Proficiency in Agile, Scrum and Waterfall frameworks
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with negotiation at senior management level
