Senior Project Manager (Customer Projects)

About the role

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is recruiting a Senior Project Manager in Sydney. The role is designed as onsite, with the expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE partner or customer office. It is customer-facing and requires being onsite at the customer premise up to 4 days a week.

Key responsibilities

• Lead customer projects and programs, meeting scope, time, budget and quality expectations through planning, controlling and managing.
• Manage large, complex or multi-region customer projects, including detailed design of sponsors' high-level concepts, and manage project financials and business impact, meeting or exceeding approved budgets and providing reliable forecasts.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including steering meetings and monthly business reviews.
• Manage internal and external resources, typically a team of more than 20 people from multiple countries, mentor team members and give performance feedback.
• Identify risks, develop mitigation plans, handle change requests according to governance processes and guide process improvements and policy establishment.
• Represent the organisation to external customers and clients, and mentor lower-level employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
• PMP/PMI and/or MSP certification preferred.
• Typically 8-10 years of experience in program and project management or similar roles.
• Experience delivering projects for Telco and service provider customers, and for IT networking projects, is highly desired.

Required skills

• Extensive experience with project and program planning tools and software.
• Proficiency in Agile, Scrum and Waterfall frameworks.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills, and negotiation at senior management level.
