Senior Project Controller

About the role

Pearl Recruitment Group is recruiting, on behalf of a Perth CBD-based engineering design and project management consultancy serving the mining, processing and materials handling sectors, an experienced Lead Project Controller or strong Senior Project Controller. The role is full-time and permanent, based in Perth CBD, with a salary package negotiable depending on experience.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting and reporting across brownfields and sustaining capital projects, working with project managers, engineering teams and senior leadership.
• Prepare and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6, MS Project or similar.
• Monitor project timelines, resources, costs and overall project performance.
• Track budgets, forecasts, cost performance and variances, and support resource planning.
• Prepare dashboards, reports and project updates for senior leadership.
• Identify risks, delays, cost pressures or schedule issues early and give clear insights for project and portfolio decisions.
• Improve project controls processes, systems and reporting, and support the wider projects team with planning, cost control, reporting and commercial requirements.

Required profile

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management or similar, or 5+ years' experience in a similar project controls role.
• Previous experience in engineering, mining, resources, construction or sustaining capital projects.
• Strong knowledge of project controls, including EVM, cost control, forecasting and schedule analysis.
• Strong communication skills and confidence working with internal stakeholders.
• Postgraduate qualifications or certifications such as AACE, PMI-SP or PMP are highly regarded but not essential.

Required skills

• Scheduling and resource planning tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
• Cost management systems such as Pronto, CMS or similar.
• Strong Excel, reporting and data analysis skills.
