Senior Process Engineer – Energy & Resources

About the role

As a Senior Process Engineer at Aurecon, you will lead the delivery of critical process engineering components for energy and resources projects. Working from our Brisbane office, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated, sustainable solutions for our clients.

Key responsibilities

• Lead process design, safety assessments and risk management for complex resources and energy projects.
• Manage and mentor multidisciplinary teams, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
• Develop and review process deliverables such as PFDs, P&IDs, calculations, specifications and safety documentation.
• Support project delivery from concept and feasibility through FEED, detailed design, construction and commissioning.
• Drive continuous improvement, best‑practice engineering standards and adoption of digital engineering tools.
• Build strong client relationships and provide expert guidance on technical and contractual matters.

Required profile

• 9+ years of process engineering experience across hydrocarbons, power, resources and green energy projects.
• Strong expertise in process design, process safety and risk management for major, technically complex projects.
• Proven ability to lead engineering teams and deliver multidisciplinary work across all project phases.
• Relevant qualifications such as a degree in Process Engineering or a related discipline.

Required skills

• Process modelling using HYSYS and UniSim.
• Equipment sizing and data‑driven design decision making.
• Experience with AFT, Bentley and PipeSim tools for flow assurance and surge analysis.
• Development of PFDs and P&IDs.
• Facilitation of HAZOP, LOPA and design review workshops.
