Lead Piping Engineer

About the role

Aurecon is looking for a Lead Piping Engineer to join its Industrial Mechanical Team in Brisbane. You will design piping systems, coordinate a multidisciplinary engineering team, and mentor junior engineers while delivering sustainable solutions for the oil and gas sector.

Key responsibilities

• Produce concept and detailed engineering designs aligned with client requirements.
• Prepare, review and verify design deliverables such as calculations, estimates, datasheets, specifications, reports and bid evaluations.
• Provide design support for piping and pumped systems, pipelines, hydraulic analysis, and mechanical engineering design and analysis.
• Coordinate engineers across small to large projects, managing budgets and schedules.
• Apply problem‑solving techniques and Safe Design principles in daily activities.
• Mentor and develop junior engineers technically.

Required profile

• Significant experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Strong mechanical and piping design background, including stress analysis and hydraulic analysis.
• Proven engineering management or supervisory experience within a multidisciplinary environment.
• Awareness of process industry standards and best practices.
