Senior Principal Structural Engineer – Water Infrastructure

About the role

AECOM is expanding its Water Infrastructure team in Australia and seeks a Principal Structural Engineer to lead technical delivery on major water and wastewater projects. You will mentor engineers, work closely with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure high‑quality, sustainable outcomes for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver structural design solutions across the full project lifecycle, from concept and bids to detailed design, construction support and technical assurance.
• Balance technical quality, programme schedules and budgets while providing sound engineering judgement.
• Build trusted client relationships, contribute to business development and identify growth opportunities for AECOM’s Water business.

Required profile

• Proven experience in structural engineering, preferably within the water sector.
• Demonstrated leadership in technical delivery and mentoring of engineering teams.
• Chartered registration (CPEng/RPEQ) is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Australian structural design standards.
• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SpaceGass and/or Strand7.
