Principal / Senior Principal Water Planning Engineer

About the role

The Integrated Water Planning Team is looking for a Principal or Senior Principal Water Planning Engineer to lead technical delivery of water and wastewater network projects across Australia and internationally. The role can be based on the Sunshine Coast, with consideration for Brisbane candidates.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and provide technical direction on complex water, wastewater and recycled water projects from strategic planning through to functional design.
• Supervise and coordinate project teams to meet objectives and client expectations.
• Facilitate client and stakeholder workshops and build strong client relationships.
• Mentor junior staff and support business development activities.

Required profile

• Recognised professional with a Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
• Chartered status (CPEng, RPEQ or equivalent) with 10+ years experience as a Principal (15+ years for Senior Principal) in water and wastewater network planning and design.
• Established industry profile for Senior Principal roles, including active involvement in professional associations.

Required skills

• Technical expertise in hydraulic principles and modelling.
• Experience with software such as InfoWorks WS Pro, InfoWorks ICM, WaterCAD/GEMS, SewerCAD/GEMS.
• Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects of varying size and complexity.
