Senior Power BI Developer

About the role

St John WA, a not-for-profit healthcare provider serving Western Australia since 1922, is hiring an experienced Power BI developer for its Data Science and Analytics team. The role is permanent and full-time, based in Belmont, and involves helping senior leaders and frontline staff make better-informed decisions through data analysis and visualisation, with a direct impact on ambulance services, urgent care and first aid training.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and visualise data to support decision-making and advise stakeholders on data and reporting matters
• Lead the development of reporting and analytics solutions and coach and mentor other analysts
• Develop high-quality, intuitive Power BI reports and data models
• Establish consistent development practices, governance and quality assurance, and promote self-service reporting
• Work with stakeholders across operational, financial, workforce and contractual domains
• Train and coach less experienced analysts and represent the team in key meetings

Required profile

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Tertiary qualification in a quantitative subject (mathematics, business, science, engineering, IT) or extensive professional experience
• Strong analytical, critical thinking and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Required skills

• Advanced Power BI development skills
• Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics concepts, including coding or query languages
• Beneficial but not required: mentoring experience, Power BI governance frameworks, Fabric or Azure data platforms, and PRINCE2, PMBOK or Agile
