Senior Payroll Officer – NZ/DC

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer on a fixed‑term contract (until Jan 2028) to deliver accurate, compliant payroll for MECCA team members across Australia and New Zealand, with a focus on our Distribution Centre, New Zealand and Aesthetica teams.

Key responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end payroll for Australia and New Zealand, ensuring timeliness and compliance.
• Manage payroll lifecycle activities including onboarding, remuneration changes, leave, allowances, deductions, benefits and terminations.
• Perform payroll reconciliations, quality checks, month‑end and year‑end activities, statutory reporting and audit support.
• Resolve complex payroll enquiries and coach Payroll Officers and Administrators.
• Identify and implement process improvements, strengthen controls and enhance payroll systems.

Required profile

• Minimum three years of end‑to‑end payroll experience in a multi‑site organisation.
• Strong knowledge of Australian and New Zealand payroll legislation (PAYG, STP, superannuation, KiwiSaver, leave laws, industrial instruments).
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills with a service‑oriented mindset.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel.
• Experience with enterprise payroll/HCM systems such as Workday, Ento, HR3.
• SQL knowledge (advantageous).
