Senior Payroll Officer – Hybrid, Parramatta

About the role

Join SSI Group as a Senior Payroll Officer, supporting payroll for over 900 employees in a purpose‑driven, values‑focused organisation. Based in Parramatta with hybrid working options, you will ensure accurate, compliant payroll processing in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time, complying with relevant Awards, legislation and SSI policies.
• Manage payroll changes within the applicable pay period.
• Respond to payroll enquiries with professionalism and accuracy.
• Handle complex payroll calculations such as redundancies, long service leave, over‑payments and under‑payments.
• Support month‑end and year‑end payroll activities, including reconciliations, reporting and audits.
• Maintain payroll procedures, guides and process documentation.
• Identify risks, inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Provide support to the payroll team in the Payroll Lead’s absence.

Required profile

• Ideally 7+ years of payroll experience, including senior‑level responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, tax, superannuation, Awards and compliance requirements.
• Experience with complex payroll calculations and reconciliations.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively and build trusted relationships across the organisation.
• Experience with the SCHADS Award and Dayforce is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables).
• Dayforce payroll system.
