Senior Payment Specialist

About the role

The Senior Payment Specialist will lead investigations and reconciliation of NPP, cross‑border and domestic payments, ensuring compliance with regulatory and bank requirements while delivering a high‑quality customer experience.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and reconcile NPP, cross‑border, inward and outward remittance payments, including Nostro breaks.
• Support the Payments Specialist with escalations, investigations and reporting of unreconciled items.
• Maintain strict adherence to Service Level Agreements and reporting procedures.
• Collaborate closely with peers, groups and stakeholders to reduce unidentified items.
• Identify and propose process improvements to senior leadership.
• Ensure compliance with risk and regulatory frameworks and complete required RAF courses.

Required profile

• Banking experience in payment reconciliation and investigations for domestic (NPP) and cross‑border transactions.
• Familiarity with RTGS, PEGA PRS workflow and TLM.
• Experience handling SWIFT enquiries, non‑value messages and AUD clearing services.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to work under tight deadlines.
