Senior Occupational Therapist - Adolescent Mental Health

About the role

Metro North Mental Health at the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital is recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist for a part-time position in adolescent mental health. The role delivers specialised occupational therapy and clinical leadership that supports young people with severe and complex mental health challenges to improve wellbeing, participation, independence and quality of life. It is an advanced clinical position within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver advanced occupational therapy assessments and interventions for adolescents with complex mental health needs in a specialist inpatient setting.
• Develop and implement recovery-focused treatment plans that enhance functional outcomes, participation and independence.
• Provide professional leadership, clinical supervision and mentoring to occupational therapists, students and multidisciplinary team members.
• Work with consumers, families, carers and healthcare professionals to coordinate safe, person-centred care.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, service development, research and evidence-based practice activities.
