Senior Motor Claims Consultant

About the role

A fast-growing insurance broking firm based in Sydney's Hills District is hiring a Senior Motor Claims Consultant to join its team. The role manages the end-to-end lodgement, assessment and settlement of a dedicated portfolio of commercial fleet, SME and motor claims, acting as a direct advocate for clients.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full claims lifecycle for a portfolio of commercial fleet, SME and motor claims.
• Advocate for clients by managing expectations, interpreting policy wording and negotiating with insurers, assessors and repairers.
• Conduct initial liability assessments, evaluate fault versus non-fault scenarios and coordinate excess waivers and third-party recovery.
• Liaise with Account Managers and Brokers on claims trends, loss ratios and coverage updates before renewals.
• Maintain accurate, compliant file notes and claims documentation in broker management systems.

Required profile

• 2-5 years' experience handling motor claims in an insurance broking, insurer or TPA environment.
• Solid understanding of motor policy wording, liability principles, Australian road rules and repair assessment workflows.
• Strong negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with a customer-first, empathetic approach.

Required skills

• Knowledge of Insight (Steadfast) or similar broking platforms such as WinBEAT is highly regarded.
• Tier 2 or Tier 1 General Insurance Compliance qualifications are advantageous.
