Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer – Operations Lead

About the role

ACCIONA is seeking a highly experienced M365 Operations Lead to become the technical authority for Microsoft 365 services across its Melbourne operations. In this newly created senior position you will ensure platform stability, lead major incident response and drive continuous improvement of the M365 environment.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the final escalation point for complex incidents across Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Defender and Purview.
• Lead major incident response, problem management and root‑cause analysis for service outages or degradation.
• Coordinate escalations with external Microsoft 365 vendors to secure timely resolutions.
• Develop, maintain and enhance runbooks, SOPs and operational documentation for L2/L3 support teams.
• Drive operational stability through automation, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Extensive hands‑on operational experience with Microsoft 365 in complex or enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical mindset with a focus on reliability, security and service quality.
• Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical issues into clear guidance for stakeholders.

Required skills

• Deep expertise in Entra ID, Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Intune, Microsoft Defender and Purview.
• Advanced PowerShell scripting, with exposure to Microsoft Graph and workflow automation tools.
• Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) platforms.
