Senior Medical Practitioner - Emergency Department

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Medical Practitioner in Emergency Medicine to join the Kalgoorlie Health Campus. You will deliver high‑quality emergency care to the Goldfields region, work within a multidisciplinary team, and rotate through shift patterns that include day, evening and on‑call duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment and management of inpatients, outpatients and emergency presentations.
• Supervise and educate Junior Medical Officers, nursing, administrative and support staff.
• Collaborate with the Royal Flying Doctor Service, Rural Clinical School of Western Australia and the WACHS Command Centre.
• Participate in on‑call duties to ensure 24/7 emergency coverage.
• Deliver culturally sensitive, patient‑centred care, particularly for Aboriginal patients.

Required profile

• Medical degree with current Australian registration.
• Fellowship or equivalent qualification in Emergency Medicine.
• Minimum five years post‑graduate experience in an emergency department.
• Experience working in regional or remote settings.
• Commitment to culturally appropriate care and flexible shift work.
