Senior Media and Communications Advisor

About the role

Join the Property Council of Australia as a Senior Media and Communications Advisor, working at the heart of Queensland’s policy, advocacy and member engagement. You will create high‑quality communications that strengthen the Council’s profile, support advocacy goals and keep members informed.

Key responsibilities

• Write media releases, statements, briefing notes, talking points and news articles.
• Develop advocacy alerts, member updates and stakeholder communications.
• Create engaging digital content for LinkedIn, social media and e‑newsletters.
• Identify media opportunities and support proactive and reactive communications activity.
• Translate policy issues into accessible, persuasive messages.
• Contribute to event content and member engagement before, during and after events.
• Provide support in managing committees and issues‑management/reputational communications when needed.

Required profile

• Strong communications professional with excellent judgement and a sharp eye for detail.
• Proven experience in media, communications, public affairs, policy or a related field.
• Exceptional writing and editing skills across a range of channels.
• Ability to distil complex information into clear, engaging messages.
• Strong stakeholder‑management skills and a collaborative working style.
• Proactive, adaptable approach and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
