Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the role

Hatch is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join its Perth team and support the delivery of rare‑earth projects. The role involves delivering high‑quality mechanical designs and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Develop mechanical engineering designs and technical solutions that meet project requirements, industry standards, and client specifications.
• Prepare and review calculations, reports, specifications, and design documentation.
• Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to ensure an integrated design approach.
• Support project planning activities, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Required profile

• BSc/B.Eng. degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Professional engineer registration.
• Substantial mechanical engineering experience on large or complex projects.
• Ability to manage and motivate individuals to achieve quality, cost, and schedule objectives.
• Strong understanding of inter‑discipline dependencies.
