Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer provides technical leadership within Clemcorp’s Engineering Department, overseeing design authority, risk management and mentorship across projects. This position ensures consistent application of engineering standards for ventilation equipment used worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and approve complex mechanical designs.
• Conduct advanced engineering analysis and manage design risk.
• Develop, maintain and govern engineering standards.
• Mentor engineers and graduates, fostering technical growth.
• Collaborate with production, technical services and management teams.

Required profile

• Engineering degree (post‑graduate or additional coursework preferred).
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
• Background in heavy engineering, mining or rotating equipment.

Required skills

• PTC Creo – 3D modelling, assemblies and detailed manufacturing drawings.
• Windchill – document control, revision management and product data workflows.
• Ansys – finite element analysis, CFD and design validation.
• Rotating equipment design experience (fans, impellers, shafts, bearings, vibration analysis).
