Senior Manager, Retail Compliance

About the role

The Senior Manager, Retail Compliance will act as a trusted advisor and subject‑matter expert for ANZ’s retail banking business. You will provide independent second‑line oversight, shape compliance risk frameworks and ensure regulatory obligations are met across everyday banking products.

Key responsibilities

• Shape and influence compliance risk frameworks for complex retail banking products such as deposits and payments.
• Interpret and translate regulatory obligations (ASIC, APRA, Privacy, Consumer Data Right, AML/CTF) into practical business outcomes.
• Provide robust, risk‑based challenge of first‑line controls, decisions and risk assessments.
• Identify emerging regulatory risks, systemic issues and drive proactive remediation.
• Represent Compliance in senior governance forums and support regulatory interactions.

Required profile

• Deep expertise in retail banking compliance and regulatory environments.
• Strong judgement and ability to influence senior (GM/Exec) stakeholders.
• Experience delivering independent oversight and challenge in a highly regulated setting.
• Proven track record of shaping compliance frameworks and managing emerging risks.
