Senior Linux System Administrator – SAP ECS (Contract)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Linux System Administrator to provide L3/L4 support for a large‑scale SAP ECS environment in Australia. The role involves maintaining critical cloud and on‑premise infrastructure across multiple hyperscaler platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver L3/L4 production support for mission‑critical SAP systems.
• Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve incidents across Linux, cloud, networking and automation layers.
• Manage compute, storage and cloud resources on AWS, Azure, GCP or IBM Cloud.
• Implement and maintain containerised workloads using Kubernetes.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts (Shell, Python, PowerShell, Ansible).
• Utilise monitoring tools such as Nagios, Prometheus and ServiceNow for proactive operations.
• Participate in on‑call rotation and shift work as required.

Required profile

• Extensive Linux administration experience (RedHat or SUSE).
• Proven L3/L4 production support in enterprise environments.
• Strong troubleshooting and incident‑management capabilities.
• Experience with containers, Kubernetes and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud).
• Solid networking and security knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, NAT, firewalls).
• Hands‑on scripting and automation skills.
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (Nagios, Prometheus, ServiceNow).
• Exposure to SAP environments is a plus.
