Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor - Microbiology

About the role

Monash University's Department of Microbiology is looking for a Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to join its Clayton Campus team. The role helps shape the future of microbiology research and education, with a continuing full-time appointment. Remuneration is $150,841-$173,931 per year at Level C and $181,629-$200,092 at Level D, plus 17% employer superannuation.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials and practical classes, and develop and coordinate the curriculum across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.
• Provide high-quality teaching and assessment, and supervise and mentor honours and higher degree by research students.
• Develop and run a research program with high-quality publications, external research funding and collaborative projects, with opportunities to lead research teams.
• Contribute to the department's academic leadership and its reputation for excellence in biomedical research.

Required profile

• Doctoral qualification or equivalent standing in microbiology or a relevant discipline.
• Strong record of research achievement, publications and success in securing external research funding.
• Demonstrated tertiary teaching experience, including curriculum development and course coordination.
• Proven commitment to supervising higher degree by research students, mentoring students and colleagues, and academic leadership.
• Visa sponsorship is not available; current valid work rights in Australia are required.
