Senior IT Asset Management Consultant

About the role

KPMG’s Technology Risk and Cyber team is seeking an experienced IT Asset Management professional to lead software baselining for Tier 1 and Tier 2 vendors. You will work closely with clients, internal specialists and tool administrators to deliver accurate licensing positions and support audit readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Produce software baselines and Effective Licence Positions (ELPs) using FlexeraOne, Snow Atlas, ServiceNow SAM/HAM Pro and KPMG discovery tools.
• Analyse deployment, usage and entitlement data, applying vendor licensing rules to calculate compliance.
• Identify data gaps, anomalies and tooling limitations, and collaborate with technical teams to remediate issues.
• Design, configure and optimise ITAM tooling solutions, including platform integrations and upgrades.
• Document assumptions, data sources and licensing logic to ensure audit‑ready outcomes.
• Support clients during audits, renewals and commercial negotiations with clear, defensible baseline outputs.

Required profile

• Proven experience delivering software baselines for Tier 1 vendors such as Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, IBM or Adobe.
• Tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Information Systems or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Consulting or client‑facing experience across multiple industries.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with ITAM tools: FlexeraOne, Snow Atlas, ServiceNow SAM/HAM Pro.
• Strong analytical skills for interpreting complex datasets and licensing metrics.
• Knowledge of enterprise software licensing models and vendor licensing frameworks.
• Ability to troubleshoot discovery data, inventory gaps and licensing calculation issues.
