About the role
WorkSafe Queensland is seeking a Senior Inspector (Construction) to join a multidisciplinary team focused on improving health and safety outcomes across Queensland. This entry‑level position offers a structured onboarding program, on‑the‑job training and mentorship from senior team members.
Key responsibilities
- Help prevent serious injuries and fatalities in high‑risk workplaces.
- Hold unsafe businesses to account and enforce compliance.
- Educate workplaces on their legal obligations.
- Influence safety culture across Queensland’s construction and industrial sectors.
- Support recommendations from the Best Practice Review of Workplace Health and Safety Queensland.
- Contribute to creating safer work environments for thousands of Queenslanders.
Required profile
- Strong written communication, time‑management and stakeholder‑engagement abilities.
- Practical experience applying safety protocols in operational or regulatory environments.
- Resilience and professionalism to manage difficult conversations and challenging situations.
- Confidence engaging with people at all levels, educating, influencing and enforcing compliance when required.
- A genuine commitment to improving safety for Queensland workers.
