Senior HR Systems & Projects Specialist

About the role

An established public sector organisation with a broad HR and payroll function is looking for an experienced HR systems professional to keep its HR systems, processes and services running well. Reporting to the HR management team, the role sits at the intersection of HR, payroll, technology and project delivery, with hands-on exposure to audits, reporting, policy and procurement.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and deliver HR-related projects and initiatives
• Provide SAP HR subject matter expertise, technical support and business advice
• Coordinate SAP system updates, testing and implementation, including changes linked to Enterprise Agreements and salary advancement
• Provide HR and payroll processing, support and advisory services
• Coordinate internal and external audits and prepare HR data and responses for Senate Estimates Questions on Notice
• Undertake HR reporting, data analysis and interpretation
• Manage Freedom of Information (FOI) requests
• Review, develop and maintain HR policies and procedures
• Manage procurement activities, including market approaches and alternative procurement arrangements

Required profile

• Experienced HR systems or HR operations professional with solid hands-on SAP HR experience
• Experience coordinating system changes, testing and implementation
• Good understanding of HR and payroll operations and their governance environment
• Able to manage multiple priorities and build strong stakeholder relationships
• Strong reporting, data analysis and written communication skills
• Australian citizenship is essential
• Desirable: a qualification in SAP and/or Project Management, project management experience, audit, FOI or Senate Estimates reporting experience, and public sector governance experience

What we offer

• Salary of $126k - $152k plus superannuation, on an initial 12-month non-ongoing basis
