Senior Health & Strategy Analyst

About the role

Medibank is looking for a commercially minded, strategically focused Senior Healthcare Analytics Analyst to join its Provider Analytics team. The role focuses on high-impact strategic initiatives rather than routine reporting or dashboard development, assessing the financial and commercial implications of new healthcare programs, funding models and provider strategies. It suits someone who enjoys solving complex business problems and influencing decisions through data-driven insights.

Key responsibilities

• Drive analytics support for strategic healthcare projects and initiatives.
• Develop financial and commercial models to assess new healthcare initiatives, funding approaches and pricing changes.
• Provide insights and recommendations to support provider and healthcare strategies.
• Assess business impacts, risks and opportunities associated with strategic initiatives.
• Support hospital funding and provider-related initiatives through robust data analysis.
• Translate complex technical findings into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
• Partner with stakeholders across Healthcare, Strategy, Finance and Provider teams to influence decision-making.
• Support and mentor junior team members.

Required profile

• Experience in analytics, commercial modelling, economics, finance, data science or a similar quantitative role.
• Ability to move between detailed analysis and strategic thinking, and to handle complex, sometimes ambiguous challenges.
• Confidence to work independently, manage competing priorities and navigate ambiguity.
• Healthcare, health insurance or broader health sector experience is highly regarded.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel modelling, including complex financial and scenario-based models.
• SAS, SQL or similar analytical tools; SAS experience is highly regarded but not essential.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills, able to simplify technical concepts for diverse audiences.
