Senior Group Financial Accountant

About the role

Join MUFG Pension & Market Services as a Senior Group Financial Accountant and lead high‑quality financial reporting across the Group. You will work in a hands‑on environment, partnering with Finance, Tax, Audit and Transformation teams to ensure accurate, compliant and timely reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and review statutory financial statements, subsidiary accounts and year‑end reporting deliverables.
• Lead month‑end and year‑end close activities, including journals, accruals, pre‑payments, fixed assets and intercompany accounting.
• Maintain balance‑sheet integrity through robust reconciliations, issue resolution and strong financial controls.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis and support external audit requirements, preparing high‑quality documentation.
• Provide technical accounting guidance, support SOX compliance and contribute to finance transformation and ESG reporting initiatives.

Required profile

• CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• 5+ years of experience in financial accounting, statutory reporting, audit or related environments.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience with financial statements and statutory accounts.
• Audit‑focused mindset with ability to identify reporting risks and maintain high‑quality documentation.
• Exposure to SOX controls, governance frameworks and internal control environments.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel skills and ability to work with large, complex datasets.
• Experience with month‑end close, reconciliations, journal entries and audit processes.
• Stakeholder management and communication skills to influence finance and non‑finance audiences.
