Senior Graphic Designer – Annual Report (Freelance)

About the role

We are looking for a highly skilled freelance Senior Graphic Designer to lead the typesetting and layout production of a government‑tourism Annual Report. The project runs from mid‑August to mid‑October and will be delivered remotely, with a preference for candidates based in Sydney.

Key responsibilities

• Execute end‑to‑end design, layout, and typesetting of the multi‑page Annual Report.
• Collaborate closely with the internal Insights Manager to align design with content.
• Apply expert typographic and formatting techniques to complex tables and data.
• Maintain a minimal, clean aesthetic, reducing heavy imagery in favour of editorial quality.
• Manage file versioning and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven senior‑level experience designing annual reports, corporate publications, or editorial layouts.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating high‑level typesetting and typography work.
• Ability to commit to the full project timeline and adapt to intermittent workflow gaps.
• Excellent communication skills and comfort working remotely during standard business hours.
• Australian residency with full working rights.
