Senior Financial Crime Specialist

About the role

The Senior Financial Crime Specialist will lead the end‑to‑end financial crime lifecycle for ANZ’s Retail division. Reporting to the Head of Financial Crime & Fraud Risk COE, you will provide risk, control and regulatory advice while ensuring alignment across assurance activities.

Key responsibilities

• Support the business in managing AML/CTF, sanctions and anti‑bribery & corruption risk appetite, including metric and threshold setting.
• Governance and reporting to risk and compliance committees.
• Guide implementation of financial crime regulatory changes and assess associated risks.
• Manage financial crime events, issues and breach responses.
• Lead financial crime training and capability uplift programmes for retail staff.
• Coordinate product, channel and enterprise‑wide risk assessments across retail.
• Assist with regulatory information requests in collaboration with Line 2, Legal and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong experience in risk, audit, legal or compliance functions.
• Undergraduate degree in accounting, law or finance.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale governance structures and official committees.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting complex governance matters to senior leaders.
• Solid understanding of business operations, risk and commercial considerations.
