Senior Financial Accountant - Revenue Accounting

About the role

Versent is looking for a hands-on Senior Financial Accountant with strong revenue accounting expertise to join its Finance team. The role ensures accurate application of revenue accounting principles across the Versent group, covering Consulting, Licensing, Annuity, Product and Resell revenue streams. It suits someone who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, partnering with stakeholders and improving financial processes.

Key responsibilities

• Own revenue, project and associated cost accounting activities across the business
• Lead audit preparation, consolidation accounting, transition accounting and regulatory submissions
• Support financial accounting activities including BAS, GST, Payroll Tax and ABS reporting
• Review customer contracts and Statements of Work to determine the appropriate accounting standards
• Partner with Customer Contracts & Billing, Commercial, Sales and Operational teams to support accurate revenue recognition and timely invoicing
• Complete reconciliations, maintain strong financial controls and support compliance with AASB and IFRS
• Improve finance policies, processes and procedures to increase efficiency and reduce errors

Required profile

• Demonstrated hands-on revenue accounting experience
• CA or CPA qualification
• Four or more years of relevant experience in financial, revenue or project accounting
• Experience reviewing contracts, Statements of Work and project documentation
• Experience in technology, consulting or professional services is highly regarded; Workday Financials exposure is advantageous

Required skills

• Strong understanding of revenue recognition and ability to apply AASB and IFRS to complex situations
• Strong Excel capability and experience using accounting or ERP systems
• Clear communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
