Senior Accountant - Business Services

About the role

BlueRock is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its growing public practice team in Melbourne. This permanent, full-time position works with entrepreneurial business owners on tax, advisory and financial modelling work, and involves mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Tax consulting, including employee share schemes, restructuring and advice
• Strategic business planning
• Supporting up-and-coming talent to develop and grow
• Financial modelling and forecasting
• Collaborating with other teams on client engagements
• Ensuring clients meet compliance and tax obligations, including preparing financial statements and income tax returns
• Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS and FBT returns

Required profile

• 3-5 years of experience in a mid-tier accounting firm
• Experience mentoring and coaching graduates and junior team members
• Degree qualification and CA or CPA qualification (or near completion)

Required skills

• Strong technical advisory proficiency, including tax, consulting and modelling, budgeting, cash flow forecasting and valuations
• Excellent Microsoft Excel and Xero skills
