Senior Estimator - Water Infrastructure

About the role

ACCIONA is looking for a Senior Estimator to lead estimating for its Agua business on major water, wastewater and desalination bids across Australia. The role reports to the General Manager, Business Development, and covers tenders for water and wastewater treatment plants, desalination facilities and pumping stations. It involves leading the estimating team, presenting estimates to senior management and clients, and shaping pricing strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the estimating function and team for major infrastructure bids
• Build estimates from first principles for mechanical and electrical systems
• Quantify risk and advise on contingency and provisional sums
• Coordinate subcontractor inputs and pricing strategy for each bid
• Present estimates and cost basis to senior management and clients
• Guide the team in applying procurement strategies tailored to each project
• Set quantity take-off and estimating standards and train the team in first principles estimating

Required profile

• Proven experience leading estimates and bids on complex projects
• Record of leading water, wastewater or desalination bids
• First principles estimating of mechanical and electrical systems

Required skills

• Pumps, power distribution and SCADA estimating
• Pricing installation, testing and commissioning works
