Senior Engineering Manager - Future Fleet Program

About the role

Sydney Trains is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Future Fleet Program, an iconic rail program that delivers safe, reliable and clean rail services for people of NSW. The role provides expert domain knowledge and facilitates design, production, testing and commissioning and operational integration. It is a permanent full-time position based in the Sydney CBD with hybrid working, and occasional travel to Newcastle.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all engineering functions from design and production through to commissioning, including managing changes to requirements
• Ensure engineering artefacts and the resulting assets meet strategic and operational requirements
• Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders to deliver customer-focused outcomes across the fleet project requirements

Required profile

• Experience as a senior engineer with extensive knowledge of rolling stock
• Demonstrated management expertise in rail system projects and procurement
• Proven project management skills, with a record of delivering multiple concurrent small to medium projects in a complex, constrained urban environment
• Bachelor degree in engineering in a relevant discipline, or equivalent proven professional experience, or Chartership as a Professional Engineer
