Senior Employee Relations Advisor

About the role

Albury Wodonga Health (AWH), one of regional Australia's largest health services, is seeking a Senior Employee Relations Advisor to provide expert employee and industrial relations leadership across its diverse workforce. Reporting to the Director HR Business Partnering & Employee Relations, the role leads complex workplace matters, advises leaders across Victoria and New South Wales, and supports workforce governance, organisational change, workplace investigations and industrial relations strategy.

Key responsibilities

• Provide expert advice on employee and industrial relations matters
• Lead workplace investigations, grievances, misconduct and disciplinary processes
• Manage industrial disputes and support consultation with unions and employee representatives
• Support organisational change, restructures, workforce reform and consultation processes
• Coach leaders to improve workplace relations capability and decision-making
• Develop and review employee relations policies, procedures and governance frameworks
• Prepare executive briefings, reports and workforce risk assessments
• Support enterprise bargaining and industrial relations initiatives as required

Required profile

• Qualifications in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Employment Law or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
• Significant experience managing complex employee and industrial relations matters in a unionised, highly regulated environment
• Demonstrated experience leading workplace investigations and formal review processes
• Experience coaching and developing leaders

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of employment legislation, enterprise agreements, awards and industrial frameworks
• Stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing skills
• Analytical, problem-solving and report-writing capabilities
