Senior Emergency Medicine Officer – Sale, Victoria

About the role

Central Gippsland Health is looking for an Emergency Medicine Registrar or Senior Medical Officer to join the Emergency Department at its Sale campus. The role is based in a busy regional hospital serving the Wellington Shire and offers a blend of clinical practice, teaching and leadership in a coastal‑alpine setting.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality, evidence‑based emergency care to patients across the department.
• Lead, mentor and supervise junior medical officers, students and trainees.
• Assist senior management in prioritising patient care and departmental workflow.
• Perform credentialed clinical procedures as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Emergency Department.

Required profile

• MBBS or equivalent qualification.
• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (general, provisional or limited).
• Minimum five years postgraduate experience in emergency medicine.
• Demonstrated experience teaching or supervising junior staff.
• Desirable: ACEM Non‑Accredited Trainee status.
