Senior Electrical Engineer – Renewables

About the role

Join Aggreko as a Senior Electrical Engineer, delivering specialist electrical engineering expertise across a portfolio of power generation assets, including thermal, battery storage, solar PV, hybrid systems and substations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, design, review and commission robust electrical solutions for assigned projects.
• Identify and manage electrical engineering risks, ensuring compliance with grid connection and regulatory requirements.
• Provide high‑quality assurance, design reviews and technical input to the Team Lead Electrical.
• Support asset reliability, availability and performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Participate in tender evaluations, supplier assessments and contractor engagements.

Required profile

• Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• 8‑12 years’ experience in large‑scale infrastructure, power generation or renewable energy assets.
• Experience in IPP, EPC, utility or developer environments.
• Proven track record delivering detailed designs under technical leadership.
• Commercially aware with risk‑based engineering judgement.

Required skills

• HV, MV and LV electrical systems design and analysis.
• Protection and control systems, SCADA and plant control.
• Power system studies and grid connection processes.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards and network requirements.
• Technical mentorship and coaching abilities.
