Senior Electrical Engineer (Mining & Energy)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our high‑performing team in Perth. The role will start on a mining project in its commissioning phase and will progress to additional mining and energy projects, delivering electrical design and engineering solutions across a diverse asset portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop LV and HV design packages, including calculations, equipment sizing, datasheets, load and equipment lists, tie‑in schedules, bills of materials and capital spares.
• Manage vendor packages: prepare specifications and requisitions, evaluate bids, handle technical clarifications, review vendor data and participate in inspections and factory acceptance testing.
• Ensure all electrical deliverables are completed within budget and schedule constraints.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated project outcomes.
• Participate in safety‑in‑design activities such as hazard identification, HAZOP studies, constructability reviews and risk assessments.
• Verify that designs comply with relevant regulations, standards and industry best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mining, resources or heavy‑industrial environments.
• Proven experience in concept design, FEED and detailed engineering phases.
• Experience in construction, commissioning, operations or maintenance is advantageous.

Required skills

• LV and HV electrical system design.
• Electrical calculations and equipment sizing.
• Preparation of datasheets, load lists, tie‑in schedules and bills of materials.
• Vendor package management, specifications preparation and bid evaluation.
• Technical clarification, vendor data review and factory acceptance testing.
