Senior Electrical Engineer - Aviation

About the role

Aurecon is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join its Aviation Centre of Excellence in Melbourne. You will lead the design and delivery of airport electrical infrastructure across civil and defence airports in Australia and the Asia‑Pacific region.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of major airside electrical infrastructure projects.
• Produce Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) designs for runways, taxiways, approach lighting and apron floodlighting.
• Develop feasibility studies, concept designs and detailed design documentation.
• Provide technical leadership, review calculations, specifications and ensure compliance with MOS Part 139, ICAO Annex 14 and Australian Standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary planning and engineering teams.
• Mentor and support developing engineers.
• Build strong client relationships and contribute to future project opportunities.

Required profile

• Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in Aeronautical Ground Lighting (AGL) design.
• Strong understanding of airport electrical infrastructure and airside systems.
• Experience with high‑voltage, low‑voltage, CCR and control systems design.
• Knowledge of MOS Part 139, ICAO standards and airport compliance requirements.
• Experience delivering projects in consulting, contractor, airport or aviation environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Passion for technical excellence and mentoring.
