Senior Drainage Engineer

About the role

A Senior Drainage Engineer is sought for the Bridges, Aviation and Roads team, helping deliver future-ready drainage solutions across Queensland's infrastructure projects, from highways to airports. The role sits within the Transport & Infrastructure Group, working with advanced technology and a culture of innovation. It can be based in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns or Townsville.

Key responsibilities

• Design innovative drainage systems for civil infrastructure projects.
• Lead and coordinate design elements to meet project goals and client expectations.
• Partner with Principal Engineers on large-scale projects and own your deliverables.
• Produce high-quality design reports and drawing packages.

Required profile

• Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (Bachelor or Master).
• Minimum 3 years' experience in drainage design, preferably for transport infrastructure projects.
• Hands-on experience with stormwater and drainage design (open channels, culverts, pit and piped systems).
• Knowledge of Austroads guidelines, TMR standards and specifications, ARR and QUDM; rail drainage standards are a plus.
• Positive, team-first attitude, great communication skills and a drive to make a difference.

Required skills

• Proficiency in 12D, DRAINS and MUSIC; dynamic drainage in 12D and/or TUFLOW experience is a bonus.
