Senior Design Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join a leading provider of underground mining technologies in Perth. The role involves overseeing the full design lifecycle, mentoring a small engineering team, and delivering high‑quality solutions for mining and rotating equipment projects.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the entire design process and sign off on analysis work such as FEA and CFD.
• Review and verify design and technical documentation for accuracy.
• Mentor a small team of mechanical engineers, delegating tasks and optimising production.
• Prepare technical engineering reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Project‑manage the team and product portfolio proactively.
• Collaborate with production and management to ensure quality assurance of finished products.

Required profile

• Degree‑qualified engineer with 5+ years of experience designing underground mining technology or rotating equipment.
• Experience using CREO, ANSYS, and Windchill (highly regarded).
• Background in the design of rotating equipment such as fans or turbines, or underground mining technology.
• Familiarity with Australian Standards.
