Senior Data Centre Technician

About the role

We are seeking a passionate Senior Data Centre Technician to join our Sunshine Coast facilities team. The role supports the Facility Manager in day‑to‑day data centre operations, delivering high‑quality technical maintenance and exceptional customer service.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure safe, secure and reliable data centre operation by managing WHS, security and critical facility systems.
• Perform high‑voltage (HV) switching as directed and act as the subject‑matter expert for communications infrastructure.
• Coordinate customer provisioning requests, meeting accuracy, timeliness and quality standards.
• Manage contractors, workloads and staffing resources to meet operational demands and service‑level agreements.
• Plan and maintain cabling infrastructure capacity to support customer growth and service availability.
• Assist with customer equipment installation, routine facility maintenance and day‑to‑day operational activities.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and operational readiness of the facility.
• Escalate incidents according to procedures and drive continuous improvement of processes, policies and workflows.
• Lead training initiatives, provide technical guidance to the team and prepare operational reports.

Required profile

• Strong customer‑service orientation with experience handling queries and escalations.
• Excellent planning, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Proven ability to work safely in a high‑voltage environment and manage complex technical tasks.
• Ability to work collaboratively across teams and contribute to continuous learning.
