Senior Data & AI Governance Specialist

About the role

QBE Group is seeking a Senior Data & AI Governance Specialist to help shape its data foundations for AI and advanced analytics. The role is based in Sydney/Melbourne and operates in a hybrid model, supporting the organisation with trusted, scalable, AI‑ready data.

Key responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to improve data quality, metadata management and data governance across the enterprise.
• Define and implement data quality rules, standards and frameworks that support AI and analytics outcomes.
• Develop and enhance semantic models, ontologies and metadata structures to enable AI readiness.
• Partner with business and technical stakeholders to solve data challenges and embed best practices.
• Improve adoption and usability of data governance tools through scalable, self‑service approaches.
• Support integration and optimisation of platforms such as Ataccama, Collibra and Databricks.

Required profile

• Forward‑thinking data professional with strong technical expertise and a collaborative mindset.
• Proven experience in data governance, data quality or metadata management.
• Ability to work across business and technology stakeholders to deliver practical outcomes.
• Interest in AI and how high‑quality data underpins advanced analytics.
