Senior Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

Service Stream is looking for an experienced Senior Cyber Security Analyst to join its growing Cyber Security team in Melbourne. The role blends hands‑on technical work, stakeholder engagement, proactive threat hunting and risk mitigation, while providing technical leadership and mentoring junior analysts.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate and respond to security alerts and incidents, managing SOC activities.
• Administer and optimise security technologies such as SIEM, SOAR, email security, endpoint protection and privileged access solutions.
• Conduct threat hunting, threat intelligence analysis and threat modelling.
• Support phishing simulations, incident response exercises and security monitoring capabilities.
• Contribute to cyber security audits, compliance activities and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience in cyber security operations, preferably within defence, critical infrastructure or similarly regulated environments.
• Strong understanding of frameworks and standards such as ACSC Essential Eight, ISM, NIST, ISO 27001 and MITRE ATT&CK.
• Australian citizenship and eligibility for a government security clearance (Baseline or NV1).

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with Splunk, CrowdStrike, Check Point, Zscaler, ServiceNow and Jira (or similar platforms).
• Experience with security technologies including SIEM, SOAR, email security, endpoint protection and privileged access management.
