Senior Consultant - IT Audit, Mid Market & Private

About the role

KPMG Australia's Mid-Market & Private Audit division is growing its IT Audit practice to evaluate audit clients' IT control environments and meet rising demand for IT controls in financial reporting. As a Senior Consultant in the IT Audit team, you will deliver technology assurance and advisory projects, mentor team members and support IT Audit managers, based in Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technology assurance and advisory projects such as IT external audit, SOC 1/SOC 2 assurance and post implementation reviews.
• Develop, coach and mentor team members, giving them stretch assignments to build their capability.
• Provide technical knowledge, direction and training to engagement team members.
• Support IT Audit managers in project management of engagements and prepare clear, concise reports for IT management and CIOs.

Required profile

• 3 to 4 years of experience in IT external audit engagements supporting financial statement audits; preference for experience gained in a Big Four firm.
• Strong knowledge of technology risk and controls.
• Tertiary qualification in a related field (Accounting, Information Systems, Commerce or similar), or CA or CISA equivalent, or ability to obtain a CISA.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail, accuracy and deadlines.

Required skills

• Detailed understanding of risk and controls, evaluating the effectiveness of IT controls on core business processes.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts clearly.
