Senior Consultant – Infrastructure Communications

About the role

Struber is seeking a Senior Consultant to lead people‑centred communication and engagement on complex, high‑impact infrastructure projects across Queensland. You will work at the intersection of people, projects and complexity, helping clients translate technical information into clear, accessible messages that shape community experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and deliver stakeholder‑focused projects from concept to completion.
• Design and implement strategic communication and engagement plans.
• Develop messaging, narratives, content, bids and project materials that inform and inspire.
• Apply rigorous planning, risk management and structured delivery methods.
• Translate technical, engineering or policy information into clear communication.
• Support clients through sensitive community issues and build trusted relationships.
• Facilitate conversations, manage issues and drive alignment across diverse groups.
• Coach junior consultants and contribute to a high‑performing culture.

Required profile

• Experience in strategic or corporate communications within infrastructure, utilities, transport or major projects.
• Background in community or stakeholder engagement for complex programmes.
• Knowledge of change management, behaviour change or human‑centred design.
• Familiarity with bids, tenders or project‑related submissions.
• Current or recent work in infrastructure consultancies, government agencies, Tier 1 contractors or in‑house communications teams.
