Senior Consultant - Environmental Management

About the role

Fyfe, an Australian multidisciplinary consultancy covering engineering, environment, planning and surveying, is hiring a Senior Consultant for its Environmental Management team in Sydney. The role covers a varied mix of environmental management, monitoring and compliance projects, helping them move from approval through to construction, operation and decommissioning. Work is spread across NSW, with a growing renewable energy pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare environmental management plans and post-approval documentation for construction, operation or decommissioning
• Turn approval conditions, regulatory requirements and project commitments into practical environmental controls and actions
• Deliver groundwater, surface water, soil and other monitoring programs for pre-construction, construction and operational needs
• Carry out environmental inspections, audits and compliance monitoring, producing reports, monitoring summaries and regulatory correspondence
• Manage work across multiple projects with quality, accuracy and reliable delivery

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field
• Demonstrated experience in environmental management of renewable energy, infrastructure or development projects
• Experience in environmental monitoring (groundwater, surface water, soils) and in preparing environmental management plans such as CEMPs, OEMPs, SWMPs, NMPs and WMPs, plus monitoring programs and reporting
• Knowledge of NSW and federal environmental legislation, approval conditions and regulatory compliance frameworks
• Strong technical writing skills; planning experience is an advantage
• Australian citizenship, permanent residency or full Australian working rights; agency applications are not accepted
